Meet the Author
Hi, I’m Maria—the author behind Marv’s Musings! All of this came about after I made a commitment to myself on New Year’s Day 2026 to share my writing more publicly. This led to exciting new opportunities—like being selected as a Writer-in-Residence at Linden Place and joining LitArts RI as a Board member—and some rejections. But the adventure has been worth it! Hope you enjoy my musings…
Maria Grande is a writer based in New England whose work explores disability, identity, embodiment, and representation. Her essays blend personal narrative with cultural reflection, examining the subtleties of everyday life, the challenges of navigating an inaccessible world, and the unexpected moments of resilience and connection. She is drawn to the tension between vulnerability and levity, using humor as both a tool for coping and a lens for insight. Her fiction writing focuses on retelling classic literature in a modern world, diving deeper into the complexities of timeless characters in the context of our current times and reimagining their journeys towards healing, love, and happy endings.
